Roger Farrington began his career at the Charles Playhouse where he shot publicity photos for over 25 professional and Equity Off-Broadway shows. Trained as a theatrical publicity photographer, Farrington moved into Boston's emerging restaurant, hospitality and boutique retail industry, opening over 50 major new hotels, top restaurants, urban malls and high-end boutique shops. From the mid '90's to present day, Farrington has concentrated on linking the city's unprecedented growth to Boston's top charitable fundraising organizations.
Created and produced "Boston People", the city's first weekly pictorial photo column for The Boston Ledger, featuring candid photographs of the city's top charitable events. "Boston People" quickly became an elite reference guide, a "who's who" of Boston and the column where everyone wished to be seen in.
Created and produced the popular "Proper Bostonians" full page bi-monthly pictorial spread in The Improper Bostonian, documenting the city's top events, openings and black-tie galas. The popularity of this column helped propel the Improper from Brookline to Newbury Street.
Created and produced the popular "Reporter RSVP" full page monthly pictorial spread in Boston Magazine featuring the city's top movers and shakers attending "A" list events.
Worked with The Boston Globe's Living/Arts editors and columnists to transform the popular "Names & Faces" column from mostly national in scope to one with a discerning local eye towards Boston's nightlife scene. Farrington has placed hundreds of images in "Names" for countless local and national clients.
Created and produces the popular "Out & About" weekly photo column in The Beacon Hill Times and The Back Bay Sun, featuring events and people of note from throughout the city.
